How to Draw an A-Frame Cabin
Draw an A-frame cabin in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big triangle.
Step 1: The big triangle
In the middle of your paper draw one big tall triangle standing on the ground, point up.
Tip An A-frame cabin is all roof, shaped like the letter A.
Step 2: Snow cap
Near the tip, start on the left slope and draw a short bumpy snow line. Stop on the right slope.
Tip Keep the snow cap small, so the triangle looks like a roof, not a mountain.
Step 3: The front wall
Start inside the left corner, slant up to a point under the snow, then down inside the right corner.
Step 4: The big window
On the front, under the snow, draw a tall triangle window with a cross in it.
Step 5: The door
At the bottom draw an arched door standing on the ground. Add a dot for the knob.
Step 6: Stove pipe
On the right slope draw a short upright box for the pipe, with a flat cap on top.
Step 7: The ground
Draw the ground line across the bottom of the page.
Step 8: Two pine trees
A little away from each side of the cabin, draw a pine tree: pointed triangles stacked on a short trunk.
Step 9: Snowflakes
Draw 4 little snowflakes in the sky, each made of 3 short lines crossing like a star.
Step 10: White snow, sky window
Leave the snow cap white. Colour the window sky blue and the pipe grey.
Step 11: Wooden front, red door
Colour the front wall wood brown around the window and door. Colour the door red.
Step 12: Green pines, brown roof
Colour the pines green and the roof sides brown. Go over all your lines. Done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: an A-frame cabin, drawn by you.
