How to Draw Sledding
Draw sledding in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: snowy hill.
Step 1: Snowy hill
Start near the left edge, below the middle. Draw a long line sloping gently down almost to the right edge.
Tip The hill is a gentle slide, not a cliff.
Step 2: Sled seat
Above the slope draw a long flat plank with rounded ends, tilted the same way as the hill.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the front of the plank draw 2 big egg eyes. Add a black dot and white shine in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Between the eyes draw a small U smile, and a tiny flat cheek just outside each eye.
Step 5: Runner
Under the plank draw a long fat band lying on the hill, curling up at the front like a J.
Step 6: Two posts
Join the plank to the runner with 2 little box posts, one near the front and one near the back.
Step 7: Rope
From the top of the curl draw a loose rope looping back onto the plank, ending in a small knot.
Step 8: Speed lines
Draw 3 short speed lines streaking out behind the sled, up the hill.
Step 9: Snowflakes
Draw 3 little snowflakes in the sky above the hill, each 3 short lines crossing.
Step 10: Pink cheeks
Go over your lines, then colour the cheeks pink. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Wood brown sled
Colour the plank and posts wood brown, around the eyes and cheeks.
Step 12: Red runner
Colour the runner red, and your sled is racing down the hill!
