How to Draw a British Flag
Draw a british flag in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the flag pole.
Step 1: The flag pole
On the left draw a tall thin pole from near the bottom to near the top. Add a ball.
Step 2: The waving flag
Start on the pole below the ball. Wave the top edge out to the right, come down, and wave back.
Step 3: The big cross
Draw a wide cross through the middle of the flag, from top to bottom and from side to side.
Tip Draw 4 corners, each like a letter L, and leave the middle open.
Step 4: A thin edge
Draw a thin edge all round the cross: one more corner line just outside each corner of the cross.
Step 5: Diagonal bands
From each corner of the flag draw 2 lines towards the middle, stopping at the edge of the cross.
Tip Keep the 2 lines of a band the same distance apart all the way.
Step 6: Thin stripes
Inside each diagonal band draw 2 lines close together down its middle, making a thin stripe.
Step 7: Ground line
Draw a long flat ground line under the pole, from the left side to the right side.
Step 8: Yellow ball, grey pole
Colour the ball on top of the pole yellow and the pole grey.
Step 9: Red cross
Colour the big cross and the 4 thin stripes red. Leave the edges beside them white.
Step 10: Blue triangles
Colour the 8 triangles blue. Go over your lines. Your British flag is waving!

Your finished drawing
