How to Draw a Toy Race Track
Draw a toy race track in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the loop.
Step 1: The loop
In the middle draw a big circle. Draw a smaller circle just inside it.
Tip Draw round a cup or a roll of tape to get a true circle.
Step 2: Start ramp
From high on the left draw a flat start, then a ramp down to the foot of the loop.
Tip The ramp is as thick as the loop all the way down.
Step 3: The jump
From the other foot of the loop draw the track along the table, curling up at the end.
Step 4: Post and block
Under the flat start draw a post with a wide foot. Under the jump draw a small block.
Tip They hold the track up off the table.
Step 5: Four wheels
Draw 2 wheels on the flat start. Draw 2 more inside the loop, low on the right, touching it.
Step 6: First car
Over the wheels on the start draw a car: a bonnet, a tall round roof and a window.
Tip Keep the window well inside the roof, with a gap all round.
Step 7: Second car
Over the wheels in the loop draw the same car, tipped nose up as it climbs.
Tip Turn your paper until the 2 wheels sit level, then draw the car.
Step 8: Table line
Draw a straight table line under the track, from near the left edge to near the right edge.
Step 9: Yellow track
Go over your lines. Colour the loop, the ramp and the jump yellow.
Step 10: Red and blue cars
Colour the first car red and the car in the loop blue, around the wheels. Leave the windows white.
Step 11: Grey wheels and supports
Colour the 4 wheels, the post and the block dark grey.
