How to Draw a Teapot
Draw a teapot in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the teapot body.
Step 1: The teapot body
In the middle of your paper, draw a big dome with a fat tummy and a flat bottom.
Step 2: The lid
Start on the body top, draw a flat rainbow lid across to the other side. Add a round knob.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the front, in the middle, draw 2 big egg eyes close together. Colour a black dot in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile. Add a small flat cheek below the outside of each eye.
Step 5: The handle
Start high on the left of the body, draw a fat C loop out and back, stop lower down.
Step 6: The spout
On the right draw a fat bent spout, curving up to the top of the body, flat at the tip.
Step 7: Steam
Just above the spout's tip draw 2 soft wiggly steam lines side by side, rising up.
Step 8: A stripe
Near the bottom, start on the left edge and draw one gentle smile across to the right edge.
Step 9: Table and shadow
Under the teapot draw a flat oval shadow, then a table line out from each side of it.
Step 10: Cream lid and band
Colour the lid, the knob and the stripe band at the bottom cream.
Step 11: Pink cheeks, grey shadow
Colour the cheeks pink and the shadow grey.
Step 12: Blue teapot
Colour the body, spout and handle blue above the stripe, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white. Ready to pour!
