How to Draw Sidewalk Chalk
Draw sidewalk chalk in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the middle stick.
Step 1: The middle stick
Below the middle draw a fat stick lying on a slant, rising to the right, with round ends.
Tip Chalk sticks are fat and round, with no point.
Step 2: Two more sticks
Draw 2 more sticks just like it, one above and one below, with a thin gap between.
Step 3: A smiling sun
Up on the left draw a round sun. Give it 2 eyes with black dots and a smile.
Tip It is a chalk drawing on the sidewalk, so keep it clear of the sticks.
Step 4: Oval ends
At each stick's left end draw a curve from the top edge to the bottom edge, making an oval end.
Step 5: Sun rays
Draw 8 short rays all around the sun, leaving a little gap next to the circle.
Step 6: The sidewalk edge
Above the sun draw a straight line almost from edge to edge of your paper, for the sidewalk's back edge.
Step 7: Pink chalk and cheeks
Colour the middle stick pink, and colour 2 small pink cheeks under the sun's eyes.
Step 8: Yellow sun and chalk
Colour the sun and the top stick yellow, going around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 9: Grey sidewalk
Colour the sidewalk under the line light stone grey, going around the sun and the chalk sticks.
Step 10: Blue chalk
Colour the bottom stick blue. Go over your lines and your sidewalk chalk is done!

Your finished drawing
