How to Draw a Sidecar Motorcycle
Draw a sidecar motorcycle in 13 steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: wheels and fenders.
Step 1: Wheels and fenders
Low down, draw 2 big wheels a hand apart, each with a rim and hub. Arch a fender over each.
Tip Big chunky wheels make the bike look tough and cute.
Step 2: Big headlight
Above the front fender, draw a big round headlight, with a smaller circle inside and a tiny shine.
Step 3: Fork, handlebar, mirror
Behind the headlight, draw a fat fork slanting down to the front hub. Add a handlebar and a round mirror.
Step 4: Big gas tank
From the fork, draw a big humped gas tank swooping up and back down to the back fender, flat underneath.
Tip The tank is the bike's body, like a loaf leaning on the fork.
Step 5: The seat
From the tank, draw a long flat seat back over the back fender, rising a little at the tail.
Tip The seat lies right on the back fender, no gap under it.
Step 6: Arm and frame
Draw a flat arm back to the rear hub, and a fat tube from the arm up to the fender.
Step 7: The sidecar tub
Between the wheels, draw a long low tub with a round nose pointing forward. Add a wheel under it.
Tip Keep the tub low, under the tank, so most of both big wheels still show.
Step 8: Passenger
In the tub, draw a big round helmet with a face window, 2 big eyes, a smile and round shoulders.
Step 9: Spokes and road
Draw an X of spokes in each big wheel. Add a road line under the wheels.
Step 10: Peach face, pink cheeks
Colour the face peach with 2 pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Grey metal, yellow light
Colour all the metal grey: fork, arm, frame, handlebar, mirror and hubs. Colour the headlight yellow.
Step 12: Yellow helmet, green shirt
Colour the helmet yellow around the face, and the shirt green.
Step 13: Red tank and sidecar
Colour the fenders, tub and tank red, around the helmet. Colour the seat and tyres black, leaving the rims white.
Tip Your sidecar motorcycle is ready to ride!
