How to Draw a Glass-Bottom Boat
Draw a glass-bottom boat in 13 steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the waves.
Step 1: The waves
Start at the left edge, below the middle. Draw gentle wave bumps and stop at the right edge. Add ripples.
Step 2: The hull
Draw a wide flat hull sitting low in the waves. Add a rim line from end to end.
Tip Rub out the wave line inside the hull.
Step 3: The glass panel
Under the waves, low in the hull, draw a long rectangle. That is the glass window in the floor.
Step 4: 3 little fish
In the window draw 2 fish with almond bodies, triangle tails and dot eyes. Add one more in the sea.
Step 5: The canopy
Start on the deck. Draw 3 thin posts up and stop in the air. Add a flat canopy on top.
Step 6: 2 passengers
Under the canopy draw 2 round heads with hair. Start on the deck, draw a shirt, stop on the deck.
Step 7: Passengers' faces
In each head draw 2 black oval eyes, leaving a white shine, and a small smile.
Step 8: The sun
In the top corner draw a circle sun. Start on its edge, draw 8 short rays, stop in the air.
Step 9: Sky glass, peach faces
Go over your lines. Colour the glass pale sky blue and the faces peach. Leave the hull white.
Tip Go around the fish in the window.
Step 10: Yellow sun, orange fish
Colour the sun yellow and all 3 fish orange.
Step 11: Red and green shirts
Colour one shirt red and the other shirt green.
Step 12: Teal canopy, black hair
Colour the canopy teal and the hair black.
Step 13: Blue sea
Colour the sea blue around the boat and the fish, from the waves down. Your boat is done!
