How to Draw a Shouting Face

Draw a shouting face in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: tall egg head.

Step 1: Tall egg head
Near the top of your paper draw a big, tall egg head. Make the chin a bit narrower.
Tip Make it tall. A wide-open mouth needs lots of room.
Step 2: Two ears
Start on the side of the head near the middle. Draw a C ear, stop on the head. Do both.
Step 3: Big eyes
In the middle of the head draw 2 big round eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.
Tip Leave a tiny white shine in each black dot.
Step 4: Eyebrows
Above each eye draw a short eyebrow that slants down a little toward the nose.
Tip Keep a gap between each eyebrow and its eye.
Step 5: Wide-open mouth
Under the eyes draw a tiny U nose. Below it draw a big rounded mouth, almost down to the chin.
Tip The bigger the mouth, the louder the shout!
Step 6: Teeth and tongue
Inside the mouth draw a line across near the top for teeth. Add a hump below for the tongue.
Step 7: Hair and fringe
Start above the left ear. Draw hair over the top to above the right ear, then 3 soft bumps back.
Tip Soft round bumps for the fringe, not spikes.
Step 8: Neck and shirt
Under the chin draw 2 short neck lines. Draw a shoulder sloping down from each. Add a U collar.
Step 9: Shout lines
Beside each cheek draw 3 short lines pointing away from the mouth. They show a loud shout.
Tip Keep the lines short. They must not touch the head.
Step 10: Peach skin, pink tongue
Colour 2 pink cheeks and the tongue pink. Colour the face, ears and neck peach. Leave eyes and teeth white.
Step 11: Orange hair, red mouth
Colour the hair orange. Colour the inside of the mouth red, between the teeth and the tongue.
Step 12: Blue shirt
Colour the shirt blue. Go over your lines and your shouting face is done.
