How to Draw a Shoe House

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a shoe house in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: ground and fat sole.

Print

  1. Step 1: Ground and fat sole

Draw a ground line a hand up. On it draw a fat sole, heel on the ground, toe lifting up.

  2. Step 2: Half-dome toe cap

Start at the toe tip and draw a half-dome like half a ball. Stop on the sole a third along.

Tip Start and stop ON the sole line so it never pokes past the toe.

  3. Step 3: Scoop, collar and heel

Start on the toe cap, sag, scoop up to the ankle, across, then down the heel. Stop on the sole.

Tip The ankle is as tall as the toe cap is long, and the heel bulges out in one smooth curve.

  4. Step 4: Pointed roof

On the boot draw a triangle roof from one top corner up to a point, down to the other corner.

  5. Step 5: Chimney and smoke

For the chimney, start on the right slope, go up, across and down, stop on the roof. Add 2 puffs.

Tip Put a flat lid on top of the chimney.

  6. Step 6: Front door and step

Draw a flat step on the sole, then an arched door starting and stopping on the step. Add a knob.

Tip Make the step thin and flat, like a book lying on the sole.

  7. Step 7: Windows

On the toe cap draw a round porthole window with a cross inside. High on the heel, a square window.

  8. Step 8: Sole stripe

Start at the toe end and draw a line along the sole, near the bottom. Stop at the heel end.

  9. Step 9: Sky windows, tan toe

Colour the windows sky blue, then the toe cap tan around its window, and the step tan.

  10. Step 10: Red roof and door

Colour the roof and the door red.

  11. Step 11: Brown boot, slate chimney

Colour the boot brown around the door, the square window and the step, then the chimney and sole bottom slate.
