How to Draw a Farm
Draw a farm in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the barn roof.
Step 1: The barn roof
On the left of your paper draw a barn roof: a point, a shoulder each side, then a thick brim.
Tip Leave the right side of the paper empty for the silo.
Step 2: The barn walls
Start under the brim, a little in from the left. Draw the wall down, across, and up to the brim.
Step 3: The big doors
In the middle of the wall draw a wide door with a rainbow top. Draw a line down its middle.
Step 4: The silo
To the right draw a tall box silo, higher than the barn. Put a round dome cap on top.
Step 5: The ground
Start at each bottom corner of the barn. Draw a ground line out to the paper edge, under the silo.
Step 6: Braces and hayloft
Draw an X on each barn door. Up in the roof draw a square hayloft door with an X too.
Step 7: Windows and bands
Draw a window with a plus each side of the doors. Give the silo an arched window and 2 bands.
Step 8: A fence
Out on the left draw 3 pointed fence posts on the ground. Add 2 rails across between them.
Step 9: Hay bale and sun
Draw a round hay bale with a curl by the silo. In the sky add a sun with 8 rays.
Tip Rub out the silo line inside the bale.
Step 10: Yellow hay and sun
Colour the hay bale and sun yellow, and the windows sky blue.
Step 11: Grey silo, wooden doors
Colour the silo grey around its window and the hay bale. Colour the doors and fence wood brown.
Step 12: Red barn, grey roofs
Go over your lines. Colour the walls red and both roofs dark grey, around the doors and windows.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a farm, drawn by you.
