How to Draw a Playground
Draw a playground in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the slide platform.
Step 1: The slide platform
Draw a small platform on the left. On top, draw a rail with 2 short thick posts and a bar.
Tip Slide on the left, swing on the right, a little below the middle.
Step 2: The ladder
From the left part of the platform, draw 2 lines straight down to the ground, with 4 rungs between them.
Step 3: The chute
From the platform's right edge, draw a 2-line slide swooping down to the ground. Add a leg under the middle.
Step 4: The swing bar
On the right, a little higher than the platform, draw a flat bar lying across, a finger thick.
Step 5: Swing legs
From each end of the bar, draw 2 thick legs slanting to the ground, like an A without its cross.
Step 6: Ropes and seat
From the bar, draw 2 ropes straight down, a hand apart, stopping above the ground. Add a flat seat between.
Step 7: The ground
Draw a long ground line under everything, with three tufts of grass.
Step 8: A ball
Under the swing seat, draw a round ball on the ground with a curved line across it.
Step 9: Sun and birds
In the top middle, draw a round sun with 8 short rays, and a little V bird on each side.
Step 10: Yellow sun, wooden seat
Go over your lines. Colour the sun yellow and the swing seat wood brown.
Step 11: Blue ball, red slide
Colour the ball blue and the slide chute red.
Step 12: Slate frame
Colour the platform, rail, swing bar and legs slate grey. Your playground is done!
