How to Draw a Shark
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the snout.
Step 1: The snout
Start high on the left. Draw a big C for the snout and stop a little under your start.
Tip Leave lots of room on the right for the body.
Step 2: One huge eye
Behind the nose, draw one huge round eye. Fill it with a big black dot and leave 2 white shines.
Step 3: Back and fin
Start on the snout top. Curve up into a big sail fin, then along the back. End at the tail.
Tip No dip before the fin: the back climbs straight into it.
Step 4: The tail
Start at the tail neck. Draw a long top point and a short bottom point. Stop under your start.
Tip A shark tail is lopsided: long on top, short underneath.
Step 5: Round tummy
Start at the chin. Draw one big round sag under the body and stop on the bottom of the tail.
Step 6: Big open mouth
Start on the snout edge. Draw a smile ending under the eye. Add a deeper U below for the jaw.
Tip Start the U a little in from the snout and end it at the same corner, so the mouth opens wide.
Step 7: Soft teeth
Start on the top lip near the front. Draw 4 soft triangle teeth along it and stop near the corner.
Step 8: Gills
Just behind the eye, draw 3 short curves like ) ) ). Make the middle one tallest.
Step 9: Tummy stripe
Start at the mouth corner. Draw one long gentle curve along the side. Stop on the tummy near the tail.
Step 10: Side fin
Start on the stripe behind the gills. Draw a fin sweeping back and down, and stop on the stripe.
Step 11: Cream tummy, pink mouth
Go over your lines. Colour the tummy cream, around the side fin, and the mouth pink. Leave the teeth white.
Step 12: Colour the top blue
Colour everything above the stripe blue, around the eye, and the side fin too. Leave the eye white.
