How to Draw an Astronaut Dog
Draw an astronaut dog in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: dog head.
Step 1: Dog head
In the top half, in the middle, draw a round dog head, a little wider than tall.
Tip Leave room around the head for a big round helmet.
Step 2: Two big eyes
Just above the middle of the head, draw 2 oval eyes with black dots and shines.
Step 3: Muzzle and nose
Under the eyes, draw an oval muzzle. Add a black oval nose, a smile and a U tongue.
Step 4: Floppy ears
On each side, draw a long floppy ear from the top of the head, down, and back to it.
Step 5: Space helmet
Around the whole head, draw a big circle for the helmet, with a gap all round.
Step 6: Collar and suit
Start under the chin. Draw 2 neck lines and stop at a flat oval collar. Add a wide round suit.
Step 7: Sleeves
From each shoulder, draw a sleeve that bends out at the elbow and narrows down to the wrist.
Step 8: Gloves
At the end of each sleeve, draw a round mitten glove with a little thumb pointing in.
Step 9: Badge and control box
Draw a small badge on the left of the chest. Add a control box with 2 lines in the middle.
Step 10: Trouser legs
Start at the suit's bottom left. Draw 2 short legs with a point between. Stop at the bottom right.
Step 11: Boots and ground
Under each leg, draw a round boot with the toe pointing out. Draw a long ground line under them.
Step 12: Tan fur, pink tongue
Colour the head and neck tan. Leave the eyes, muzzle and suit white. Colour the tongue pink.
Step 13: Grey and blue
Colour the boots, gloves and collar ring grey. Colour the control box blue.
Step 14: Brown ears, red badge
Colour the floppy ears brown and the badge red. Your astronaut dog is done!
