How to Draw a Set Square

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a set square in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the triangle.

Print

  1. Step 1: The triangle

Draw a big triangle with a square corner at the bottom left. Flat bottom, tall left side, one slanted side.

  2. Step 2: Two big eyes

In the middle of the triangle draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.

  3. Step 3: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a wide U smile. Add a small flat oval cheek beside each eye.

  4. Step 4: Bottom ticks

Along the bottom edge draw a row of short tick marks, every other one a little taller, like a ruler.

  5. Step 5: Side ticks

Up the tall left edge draw the same row of tick marks, sticking in to the right.

  6. Step 6: Angle marks

In the corner draw a curve from the bottom edge to the left edge, with 4 tiny ticks on it.

  7. Step 7: The cut-out

Right of the smile draw a small triangle the same shape as the big one, for the hole.

  8. Step 8: Ground line

Start a little in from the left edge. Draw a ground line under it, stopping near the right edge.

  9. Step 9: Sparkles

To the right of the slanted side draw 3 four-point sparkles to make it shine.

  10. Step 10: Yellow and sky blue

Go over your lines. Colour the sparkles yellow and the triangle sky blue. Leave the cheeks, hole and eyes white.

  11. Step 11: Pink cheeks

Colour the cheeks pink. Your set square is done!
