How to Draw a Seafood Platter
Draw a seafood platter in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a platter.
Step 1: A platter
In the middle of your paper draw a big oval platter, nearly as wide as the page.
Tip Make the oval wide and low, like a dish seen from above.
Step 2: The rim
Draw a second oval a finger inside the platter, all the way round, for the rim.
Step 3: Crab shell
In the middle of the platter draw the crab's shell: a wide oval with slightly pointed sides.
Tip You are looking down on the platter from above.
Step 4: Crab claws
From the top of the shell draw a short arm on each side, ending in a big open claw.
Tip Each claw is a fat mitten with a V cut into its tip.
Step 5: Crab legs
Draw 3 bent, pointed legs out of each side of the shell. Start on the shell, end at a point.
Tip Bend each leg like an elbow.
Step 6: Shrimp
Draw 2 curled shrimp like fat commas: one at the top left and one at the bottom right.
Tip Curl each shrimp a different way.
Step 7: Tail fans and rings
On the thin end of each shrimp draw a small tail fan. Add 2 short curved lines across each body.
Step 8: Two shells
Draw 2 fan shapes for shells, at the top right and bottom left. Add 3 lines from each fan's point.
Tip Each shell is a round fan with a tiny flat hinge at its point.
Step 9: A lemon wedge
Under the crab draw a half circle lying flat. Add a smaller one inside and 3 lines from the middle.
Step 10: Yellow and tan
Go over your lines. Colour the lemon wedge yellow and the 2 shells tan.
Step 11: Pink and red
Colour the 2 shrimp pink. Colour the crab red: its shell, claws, arms and all 6 legs.
Step 12: A blue platter
Colour the platter light blue, going around all the food. Your seafood platter is done!
