How to Draw a Soda Can
Draw a soda can in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the can.
Step 1: The can
Draw a tall can: start at the top left, go down, round the bottom, up to the top right.
Step 2: The top
Join the 2 top ends with a flat oval for the top of the can.
Step 3: The lid
Inside the top oval draw a smaller flat oval for the lid, a little in from the edge.
Step 4: The tab
In the middle of the lid draw a little pill tab with a tiny circle in its right end.
Step 5: Two bands
Draw a curved line from side to side a little below the top, and another a little above the bottom.
Step 6: Bubbles
Between the bands draw a big round bubble, a small bubble on its left and a tiny one right.
Step 7: A shine
Under the top band, down the left side, draw a long thin oval for a shine.
Step 8: Table and shadow
Draw a table line out past both sides of the can, and a flat oval shadow around the can's bottom.
Step 9: Grey lid
Go over your lines, then colour the top, the lid and the tab grey.
Step 10: Grey shadow
Colour the flat oval shadow under the can grey.
Step 11: Red can
Colour the can red, around the bubbles and the shine. Leave them white. Pssht, your can is ready!
