How to Draw a Sea Snail
Draw a sea snail in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
On the left of your paper, below the middle, draw a soft round blob for the head.
Tip The shell behind it will be much bigger than the head.
Step 2: Eye stalks
On top of the head draw 2 tall stalks with a ball on top. Add a dot and a shine.
Step 3: Smile
Draw a wide smile on the front of the head. Start near the front, stop under the back stalk.
Step 4: The pointy shell
Behind the head draw a tall shell leaning back. It has 4 bumps getting smaller up to a sharp point.
Tip Each bump is one turn of the spiral.
Step 5: The foot
Start under the head. Draw a long flat foot along the ground to a point. End behind the head.
Step 6: Shell lines
Join each dip on top of the shell to the dip below it with a gentle curve.
Step 7: The sea floor
Draw one long straight line right under the foot, from one edge of your paper to the other.
Step 8: Bubbles
Above the shell draw 3 bubbles floating up. The biggest one is at the top.
Step 9: Tan body, pink cheek
Colour the head, stalks and foot tan around a cheek spot, then colour the cheek pink. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Peach and cream shell
Colour the biggest bump and the third bump peach. Colour the second bump and the tip cream.
Step 11: Sandy floor
Colour all the sea floor under the line sandy, right down to the bottom of your paper.
Step 12: Blue bubbles
Colour the 3 bubbles light blue.
