How to Draw a Scone

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a scone in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.

Print

  1. Step 1: A plate

Below the middle draw a long flat oval plate, most of the way across. Add a second oval inside.

  2. Step 2: The scone

On the plate draw a squat scone: a low rounded top, round sides, a flat bottom inside the rim.

  3. Step 3: The split

Start halfway down the left edge. Draw a bumpy line across to the right edge for the split.

  4. Step 4: Raisins

On the scone draw 8 tiny slanted ovals for raisins, above and below the split.

  5. Step 5: A dollop of jam

On top of the scone draw a soft wavy dollop of jam with rounded ends, spread across the top.

  6. Step 6: Cream on top

On the right half of the jam draw a rounded puffy dollop of cream.

  7. Step 7: A jam drip

From the front edge of the jam, left of the middle, draw a short round drop hanging down.

  8. Step 8: A table

Draw a straight table line under the plate, starting a little left of it and stopping a little right.

  9. Step 9: Tan scone

Go over your lines, then colour the scone tan, around the raisins, jam and cream.

  10. Step 10: Sky plate

Colour the plate sky blue, around the scone.

  11. Step 11: Red jam, brown raisins

Colour the jam and its drip red and the raisins brown. Leave the cream white. Your scone is done!
