How to Draw a Science Fair

Draw a science fair in 13 steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, well left of middle, draw an egg for the head, narrower at the chin.
Step 2: The face
Below the middle of the head draw 2 round eyes with eyelash flicks, a tiny nose and a smile.
Step 3: Hair and fringe
Start on the left above the eyes. Draw hair over the top, down to the right, then a fringe across.
Step 4: Neck, T-shirt, rosette
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a T-shirt round to the right one. Add a chest rosette.
Step 5: Arms
Left arm: from the sleeve, bend in to the tummy. Right arm: from the sleeve, bend out and up.
Tip The right fist reaches up toward the poster and will grip a pointer.
Step 6: Hands
On each wrist draw a fist like a fat egg, with a thumb bump and a curved finger line.
Step 7: Table and volcano
Draw a ground line, table and volcano. Zigzag lava from one top corner across to the other. Add smoke.
Tip Put the table at the right, with the volcano and its puff of smoke on top.
Step 8: Poster and pointer
Draw a tall poster behind the volcano, with a picture and lines. Add a pointer from the fist, stopping short.
Tip The pointer stops short of the poster. Fold out a wing on each side so the poster stands up.
Step 9: Trousers and sneakers
From under the fist draw trousers round both legs to the hem's right end. Add a sneaker under each leg.
Step 10: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face, neck, arms and hands peach, with a pink circle on each cheek. Go over your lines!
Tip Keep the eyes white.
Step 11: Poster and table
Colour the poster yellow, leaving the picture and smoke white, and the table wood brown.
Step 12: Red rosette, blue trousers
Colour the rosette and the lava red, and the trousers blue.
Step 13: T-shirt, hair, volcano
Colour the T-shirt purple around the rosette, and the hair and the volcano brown around the lava.
