How to Draw Apple Picking

Draw apple picking in 13 steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, narrower at the chin, left of the middle.
Tip The kid stands on a ladder and the tree fills the right.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 small eyes and a smile below the middle. Start a C ear each side, ending on the head.
Step 3: Baseball cap
Draw a round cap over the head, just above the eyes. Add a peak sticking out to the left.
Step 4: Neck and T-shirt
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a T-shirt up to the right one. Right sleeve points up.
Step 5: Arms
From the left sleeve draw an arm hanging down to the wrist. From the right sleeve draw an arm up.
Step 6: Hands
From the left wrist draw a round hand with a thumb, back to the wrist. Add a raised fist.
Step 7: Trousers and shoes
From the shirt's left end draw trousers: down, across, up between the legs, back to the shirt. Add 2 sneakers.
Step 8: Stepladder and basket
Under the sneakers draw a plank. From each end draw a ladder leg down to the ground. Add a basket.
Tip The kid stands on the top plank, not the ground.
Step 9: The apple tree
On the right start a trunk on the ground: 2 lines leaning in up to a bumpy crown. Add apples.
Step 10: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour the face, neck, ears, arms and hands peach, with pink cheeks.
Tip Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Green crown, yellow T-shirt
Colour the tree crown green, going round the apples and the fist, and the T-shirt yellow.
Step 12: Red apples, cap, sneakers
Colour every apple red, and the cap and the sneakers red too.
Step 13: Brown trunk, navy trousers
Colour the trunk, ladder and basket brown around the sneakers, and the trousers navy. You are done!
