How to Draw a School
Draw a school in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the roof.
Step 1: The roof
Above the middle of your paper draw a wide triangle roof with a soft point and a flat bottom.
Tip A school is wide and low, so the roof is quite flat.
Step 2: The walls
Start under the roof near the left end. Draw a wall down, across, and back up to the roof.
Step 3: Double doors
Draw a tall rounded door in the middle, a little above the bottom. Split it and add 2 handles.
Step 4: Steps and ground
From the bottom line draw 2 steps up to the doors and back down. Draw ground out each side.
Step 5: The bell tower
On the roof draw a tower: start on the left slope, up over a point, down to the right.
Step 6: The clock
Above the doors draw a clock. From its middle draw a short hand up and a long hand right.
Step 7: Two windows
On each side of the doors draw a big square window with a sill. Give each a plus sign inside.
Step 8: The flagpole
At the far left, start on the ground and draw a flagpole up to above the roof. Add a flag.
Step 9: Two bushes
At each bottom corner, start on the ground and draw a plump bumpy bush, back down to the ground.
Step 10: Yellow bell, sky windows
Colour the bell, the flag and the knob yellow, and the windows and the clock sky blue.
Step 11: Green bushes, red walls
Colour the bushes green, then the walls and tower red around the windows, doors, steps, bell and bushes.
Step 12: Blue doors, grey roofs
Colour the doors blue, then the roofs grey around the clock, and the steps grey. Your school is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a school, drawn by you.
