How to Draw Santa’s Workshop

Draw Santa’s workshop in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: wide roof.

Step 1: Wide roof
Near the top, draw a wide pointy roof with a soft point and a thick brim sticking out.
Tip A cabin roof is lower and wider than a cottage roof.
Step 2: Top log
Under the brim, draw the first log: a long flat loaf with rounded ends, as thick as 2 fingers.
Step 3: The door
In the middle, draw a tall door with a rainbow top. Add a round knob low on the right.
Step 4: Four more logs
Under the top log, stack 4 more logs, skipping over the door. Let every second one poke out further.
Tip The bottom log runs right under the door like a doorstep.
Step 5: The ground
From each bottom corner, draw a ground line out to the side. Add a soft snow mound on each side.
Step 6: Two windows
On each side of the door, draw a square window across the middle logs, with a plus sign inside.
Step 7: Snow on the roof
Draw a thick snow blanket along both roof slopes, brim to brim, with soft bumps along its bottom edge.
Tip The top of the snow follows the roof line you already drew.
Step 8: Chimney and smoke
On the right slope, draw a chimney standing on the snow, with a wide cap. Add 3 growing smoke puffs.
Step 9: Wreath on the door
On the upper door, draw a wreath: a circle with a small circle inside. Tie a bow at its bottom.
Step 10: The North Pole
Right of the cabin, draw a tall post with a round ball on top. Add 3 slanted stripes.
Step 11: Snow, windows, chimney
Leave the snow white. Colour the 2 windows sky blue and the chimney grey.
Step 12: Logs and wreath
Colour the 5 logs wood brown, around the windows and the door, and the wreath green.
Step 13: Roof and red door
Colour the roof brown. Colour the door red around the wreath, and the bow, ball and stripes red.
