How to Draw Chichen Itza
Draw Chichen Itza in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the stepped pyramid.
Step 1: The stepped pyramid
Draw a ground line right across. On it draw a wide pyramid, 4 steps up each side, flat on top.
Step 2: The big staircase
Up the middle draw a staircase: from the ground slant up to the top, across, and down to the ground.
Step 3: The steps
Draw short lines across the staircase from one edge to the other, evenly spaced all the way up.
Step 4: Tier lines
On each side of the staircase draw a line across at each ledge, from the edge to the staircase.
Step 5: The temple on top
On the flat top draw a box temple as wide as the top, with a roof ledge and a doorway.
Step 6: Two small blocks
At the foot of the staircase draw a small square block on each side, sitting on the ground.
Step 7: The sun
Draw a small round sun with 8 short rays in the top left.
Step 8: A cloud
Draw a puffy cloud in the top right: a row of bumps over the top and 2 flatter bumps underneath.
Step 9: Yellow sun
Colour the sun yellow.
Step 10: Sandy pyramid
Colour the stepped pyramid sand, going around the staircase and the 2 blocks.
Step 11: Tan temple
Colour the temple and its roof tan, going around the doorway.
Step 12: Grey stairs, brown door
Colour the staircase and blocks grey and the doorway brown. Go over your lines, and your Chichen Itza is done!
