How to Draw a Salt Shaker
Draw a salt shaker in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cap.
Step 1: The cap
Near the top, left of the middle, draw a domed cap: a round hill with a flat bottom.
Step 2: The glass
From the cap's bottom corners draw 2 straight sides down, joined by a round bottom.
Tip A tall glass, a little narrower at the top.
Step 3: Holes
On the cap draw 5 little dots in a gentle curved row for the holes.
Step 4: Cap line
Draw a line across the cap a little above its bottom for the cap's edge.
Step 5: A band
Under the cap draw a gentle curved line across the glass for the metal band.
Step 6: The salt inside
A finger under the band draw a curved line across the glass for the top of the salt: nearly full!
Step 7: A shine
Draw a thin curved shine line down the left side of the glass, inside the edge, below the salt line.
Step 8: The table
Draw a table line under the shaker, from well left of it to well right of it.
Step 9: A little pile
Right of the shaker, draw a little pile of spilled salt on the table. Dot 3 grains beside it.
Step 10: White salt
Go over your lines, then leave the salt in the glass and the little pile white.
Step 11: Sky glass
Colour the glass between the band and the salt sky blue.
Step 12: Grey cap and band
Colour the cap and the metal band grey, around the holes, and your salt shaker is done!
