How to Draw a Dosa
Draw a dosa in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.
Step 1: A plate
In the middle of your paper draw a big oval plate, nearly as wide as the page.
Step 2: The rim
Draw a second oval a finger inside the plate, all the way round, for the rim.
Step 3: The rolled dosa
Across the plate draw a long fat roll sloping down right. Make the left end round, the right end flat.
Tip A dosa is a big thin crispy pancake, rolled up like a tube.
Step 4: The open end
Over the flat right end draw a tilted oval, touching the top and bottom of the roll.
Step 5: The rolled edge
Start in the oval's middle and swirl out to its edge. Keep going along the top to the left end.
Step 6: Crispy spots
Draw 3 soft round spots spread along the roll, one low and two higher, for the crispy golden bits.
Step 7: Coconut chutney
On the plate above the roll draw the top bowl, a big circle with a smaller circle inside.
Step 8: Tomato chutney
Below the roll draw the bottom bowl the same way, but smaller than the top bowl.
Step 9: Tan dosa
Go over your lines, then colour the dosa and its open end tan, going around the spots.
Step 10: Blue plate
Colour the plate sky blue, going around the dosa and the bowls.
Step 11: Spots and bowls
Colour the crispy spots ginger, and each bowl's outer ring grey, around the chutney.
Step 12: White and red chutney
Leave the top bowl's chutney white and colour the bottom one red. Your dosa is done!
