How to Draw Salad
Draw salad in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.
Step 1: The rim
A little below the middle, draw a wide flat oval about a hand wide, for the top of the bowl.
Step 2: The bowl
Start at the left end of the oval. Draw a big U down and up to the right end.
Step 3: The foot
Under the bowl, start on the bottom left. Go down a little, across, and up to the bottom right.
Step 4: A heap of lettuce
From the rim's left end draw big soft bumps over to its right end. Rub out the rim inside.
Tip Round bumps look like leaves. Sharp points look like a bush.
Step 5: Tomatoes
Draw an oval tomato slice on the left of the heap, and another a little lower, right of the middle.
Step 6: Cucumbers
Draw an oval cucumber slice high up near the middle of the heap, and a smaller one on the right.
Step 7: The stripe
Under the rim, draw a bowed stripe across the bowl, from the left side to the right side.
Step 8: The table
Start left of the bowl. Rule a long table line under the foot, and stop right of the bowl.
Step 9: Pale middles
Colour a small pink middle in each tomato slice and a cream middle in each cucumber slice.
Step 10: Wood bowl
Colour the bowl and its foot cream under the stripe, and wood brown above the stripe.
Step 11: Green lettuce
Colour the heap leaf green, around the slices.
Step 12: Red tomato, green cucumber
Colour the tomato slices red and the cucumber slices green, around the pale middles.
