How to Draw a Safe
Draw a safe in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the steel box.
Step 1: The steel box
In the middle of your paper draw a big box with rounded corners, as big as your hand.
Step 2: The door
Inside the box draw a second box a finger in from every side. That is the heavy door.
Step 3: 2 big eyes
High on the door draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a white shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 5: The dial
Low on the left of the door draw a coin-sized circle for the dial, with a small knob circle inside.
Step 6: Dial ticks
Inside the dial draw 4 short lines at the top, bottom, left and right, like a clock.
Step 7: The handle
Right of the dial draw a tall thin pill for the handle, with a small circle on its middle.
Step 8: Hinges and feet
On the left side draw 2 little rounded hinge tabs, high and low. Add 2 flat feet under the box.
Step 9: Ground and shadow
Draw a flat oval shadow under the feet, and a ground line out from each side to near the edge.
Step 10: Coin pile
On the ground beside the safe draw 3 little coins in a pile, 2 below and 1 on top.
Step 11: Sparkles
Draw 3 little 4-point sparkles in the air around the safe, not touching it.
Step 12: Gold and pink
Colour the dial knob, handle and coins yellow, and the cheeks pink. Leave the dial ring white.
Step 13: Light grey door
Colour the door light grey around the face, dial and handle, and the shadow grey. Leave the eyes white.
Step 14: Dark grey box
Colour the box, hinges and feet dark grey around the door. Your safe is locked up tight!
