How to Draw a Fishing Hook
Draw a fishing hook in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the straight part.
Step 1: The straight part
Left of the middle draw 2 long lines straight down, a finger apart. Start high and stop below the middle.
Step 2: The bend
From the bottom of the 2 lines draw an upside-down rainbow, up to the right. Add a smaller curve inside.
Step 3: Happy face
Halfway down the straight part, draw 2 black oval eyes with a shine dot, and a U smile.
Tip Leave a gap between the eyes, and between each eye and the edges.
Step 4: The point
From the right ends of the curves draw 2 lines up. They lean in and meet at a sharp tip.
Step 5: The barb
Below the tip, start on the point's inside edge. Draw a small spike pointing down and back to the edge.
Step 6: The eye ring
On top of the straight part draw a round ring, wider than the hook, with a small circle inside.
Step 7: Fishing line
From the top of the ring draw a straight line up. Stop just before the top of the paper.
Step 8: Water and bubbles
Draw a wavy water line across the top from edge to edge, 3 bubbles on the right and 2 sparkles.
Step 9: Grey hook, yellow sparkles
Go over your lines. Colour the sparkles yellow and the whole hook grey around the face.
Step 10: Blue water
Colour the water blue around the hook and sparkles, leaving the bubbles white. Your fishing hook is done!
