How to Draw a Paper Fan
Draw a paper fan in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: fan shape.
Step 1: Fan shape
Start near the bottom. Draw up and out to the left, a big rainbow over, and back to the start.
Tip Like a wide slice of pie.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the fan draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.
Step 3: A wide smile
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye.
Step 4: The pin
At the bottom point, where the 2 long lines meet, draw a small round pin.
Step 5: Guard sticks
Along each long side draw a second line just inside the edge, from the pin up to the top.
Step 6: Pleat lines
From the pin draw 2 straight lines on each side of the face, stopping a finger before the big curve.
Step 7: Paper edge
A finger inside the big curve, draw one curve from stick to stick, touching the ends of the pleat lines.
Step 8: The tassel
From the bottom of the pin draw a short string to a teardrop tassel with 3 little lines hanging below.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw 4 fat 4-point sparkles in the space above the fan, 2 on each side.
Step 10: Yellow edge, pink cheeks
Colour the band along the curved edge and the 4 sparkles yellow. Colour 2 pink cheeks under the eyes.
Step 11: Wood brown sticks
Colour the sticks, the pin and the tassel wood brown.
Step 12: Red fan
Go over your lines. Colour the fan paper red, around the face and the yellow edge. Leave the eyes white.
