How to Draw a Sad Boy
Draw a sad boy in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw a big round head, a little wider at the cheeks.
Tip Leave room below for a small body.
Step 2: Sad eyes
Just below the middle draw 2 oval eyes. Colour a black dot low in each, leaving a shine.
Tip Low dots make the eyes look down at the ground.
Step 3: Nose and mouth
Between the eyes draw a tiny hook nose. Under it draw a short upside-down smile.
Tip Corners that turn down make a mouth look sad.
Step 4: Worried eyebrows
Over each eye draw an eyebrow. Make it high near the middle and sloping down to the side.
Step 5: One tear
Under one eye draw a small teardrop, pointy on top and round below.
Tip Leave a little gap under the eye.
Step 6: Two ears
On each side of the head draw a C ear. Start and stop on the head.
Step 7: Swept hair
Start above the left ear. Draw hair over the top to the right ear, then a fringe back.
Tip The fringe sweeps to one side with one little dip.
Step 8: Neck and top
Start under the chin: draw 2 short neck lines and stop. From them draw a top with sloping shoulders.
Step 9: Arms and hands
From each shoulder draw a sleeve hanging down to a straight cuff. Add a round mitten hand under it.
Tip Arms that just hang down look tired and sad.
Step 10: Trousers
Start at the left corner of the top. Draw 2 trouser legs down and back up to the right corner.
Step 11: Shoes and ground
Under each leg draw a rounded shoe with the toe turned out. Draw a long ground line under them.
Step 12: Tear and skin
Colour the tear light blue. Colour the face, ears, neck and hands peach. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Blue and grey
Colour the top and both sleeves blue. Colour the trousers grey.
Step 14: Hair and shoes
Colour the hair brown and the shoes navy. Go over your lines and you are done.
