How to Draw Head Shapes
Draw head shapes in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: round head.
Step 1: Round head
Top left: draw a round head like a ball. Add a small C ear on each side.
Tip Leave room for 2 more heads beside it and 2 below.
Step 2: Friendly face
Halfway down, draw 2 black oval eyes with tiny white shines. Add a U smile from eye to eye.
Tip Every head gets this same face.
Step 3: Oval head
Top middle: draw an egg head, a little narrower at the chin. Add 2 small ears.
Step 4: Oval head's face
Draw the same face: 2 oval eyes level with the ears, a U smile from eye to eye.
Step 5: Square head
Top right: draw a square head with soft round corners. Add 2 small ears.
Step 6: Square head's face
Give it the same face: 2 oval eyes with shines, a U smile from eye to eye.
Step 7: Heart head
Bottom left: draw a heart head, wide at the top with a dip, pointed at the chin. Add ears.
Step 8: Heart head's face
Draw the same face in the middle: 2 oval eyes, a U smile from eye to eye.
Step 9: Long head
Bottom right: draw a tall, narrow head with a round top and chin. Add 2 small ears.
Step 10: Long head's face
Draw the same face level with the ears: 2 oval eyes, a U smile from eye to eye.
Tip The same face looks different on every head shape.
Step 11: Peach heads
Colour the round, square and long heads peach, ears too.
Step 12: Tan heads
Colour the oval and heart heads tan, ears too. Go over your lines: done!
