How to Draw a Chibi Superhero

Step 1: Big round head

Near the top of your page draw a big wide egg for the head.

Tip A chibi head is huge: about as tall as the rest of the hero.

Step 2: Eye mask

Across the middle of the head draw a mask with a pointed end each side. Dip it in the middle.

Tip The 2 points just touch the sides of the head.

Step 3: Huge eyes

In each half of the mask draw a tall oval eye. Add a big black pupil with 2 white shines.

Step 4: Little smile

Start under the mask, left of the middle. Draw a small U smile and stop right of the middle.

Step 5: Short hair

Draw the hair over the top of the head, down to the mask each side. Add a parted fringe.

Tip Rub out the head line inside the hair.

Step 6: Tiny body

Under the head draw a small body with square shoulders and a flat bottom.

Tip The body is much smaller than the head.

Step 7: Star and belt

Draw a star on the chest. For a belt, draw 2 lines from the left side across to the right.

Tip A plain star with 5 points: no letters.

Step 8: Fists on hips

From each shoulder draw an arm out to the elbow and back in, to a round fist on the hip.

Tip Leave a little gap between each arm and the body.

Step 9: Legs and boots

Under the body draw 2 short legs. Draw a line across each for the boot top, and a round foot.

Tip Each leg gets a little thinner towards the foot.

Step 10: Little cape

From under each elbow draw a cape side down. Join the sides with a wavy line behind the legs.

Tip The cape hangs behind the hero: lift your pencil where the legs are in the way.

Step 11: Ground line

Start left of the boots. Draw a ground line under both boots and stop past the right boot.

Step 12: Peach and pink

Colour 2 pink cheeks. Colour the face around them and both fists peach. Leave the eyes white.

Step 13: Yellow and teal

Colour the star and the belt yellow. Colour the body, arms and legs teal around them.

Step 14: Purple and brown

Colour the mask, the cape and the boots purple. Colour the hair brown. Your chibi superhero is done!
