How to Draw a Sack Race

12 steps · Tricky · about 9 min

Draw a sack race in 12 steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two heads.

Print

  1. Step 1: Two heads

Draw 2 egg heads side by side near the top, one left of the middle and one right.

Tip Same size, same height: leave most of the page below for the bodies.

  2. Step 2: Faces

Give each head 2 oval eyes, a U nose and a smile. Add C ears starting and ending on it.

  3. Step 3: Cap and hair

Left head: a cap with a curved brim. Right head: soft tufts from one side over to the other.

Tip Add a hairline curve across the right kid's forehead.

  4. Step 4: Necks and T-shirts

From each chin draw 2 neck lines down to a boxy T-shirt. Cross the left shirt with 2 stripe lines.

  5. Step 5: Arms

Give each kid 2 arms reaching down and out a little, from the sleeves down to hip level.

  6. Step 6: Hands

On each wrist draw a fist pointing down, like an egg with a thumb bump and a finger line.

  7. Step 7: Sacks

Draw a big sack over each shirt's bottom: wavy top fist to fist, sides widening down to a flat bottom.

Tip Add 3 short folds under the top, and rub out the shirt lines inside the sack.

  8. Step 8: Ground and finish flag

Draw a ground line from the left sack across to the right. Stand a finish flag pole at its end.

Tip A small triangle flag pointing left, on a pole clear of the sacks.

  9. Step 9: Peach skin

Colour both faces, ears, necks, arms and fists peach, with pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.

  10. Step 10: Yellow and green shirts

Colour the left T-shirt yellow above and below the stripe, and the right T-shirt green.

  11. Step 11: Tan sacks, red cap

Colour both sacks tan around the fists. Colour the cap, the stripe and the finish flag red.

  12. Step 12: Black hair

Colour the right kid's hair black. Go over your lines and your sack race is done.
