How to Draw a Veterinarian

13 steps · Tricky · about 10 min

Draw a veterinarian in 13 steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Print

  1. Step 1: The head

Near the top of your paper, draw an egg for the head. Leave room below for the coat and legs.

  2. Step 2: The face

On the head, draw 2 small oval eyes with black dots. Add a tiny U nose and a smile.

  3. Step 3: Hair and fringe

Draw the hair as a cap over the top of the head, with a fringe curve across the forehead.

  4. Step 4: Neck and white coat

Draw 2 neck lines. From them, draw a long coat with round shoulders, ending at a gap under each shoulder.

Tip The long sleeves fill the gaps.

  5. Step 5: Collar and stethoscope

Draw a V collar and a line down to the hem. Hang a round-ended stethoscope from the neck.

  6. Step 6: Long sleeves

From each gap under a shoulder, draw a long sleeve that bends round at the elbow, across to the middle.

Tip Each sleeve gets thinner toward the wrist.

  7. Step 7: Fists

On each wrist, draw a round fist pointing in, with a little thumb bump on top. The fists nearly meet.

  8. Step 8: Kitten head

On the right sleeve, draw the kitten's head: a circle with pointy ears, round eyes, a nose and a smile.

  9. Step 9: Kitten body and tail

From the head, draw the kitten's body: a long soft loaf lying along the arms. Add a curling tail.

Tip The fists sit under the kitten's tummy, so the vet is really holding it.

  10. Step 10: Trousers, shoes, ground

Start at the left of the hem. Draw 2 trouser legs, back to the right. Add shoes and the ground.

  11. Step 11: White coat, peach skin

Colour the coat and sleeves white, and the face, neck and fists peach with pink cheeks.

    Tip Leave the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Grey trousers, orange kitten

Colour the trousers grey below the coat, and the kitten orange, leaving its eyes white.

  13. Step 13: Brown hair, black shoes

Colour the hair brown, then the shoes and the stethoscope's chest piece black. Your vet is done!
