How to Draw a Fairy in a Jar
Draw a fairy in a jar in 13 steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the jar.
Step 1: The jar
In the middle draw a tall glass jar with rounded bottom corners. On top draw a flat lid.
Tip Make the jar big and tall; the fairy floats inside it.
Step 2: The head
Near the top, inside the jar, draw a small egg for the head, a bit narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave the lower half of the jar for the knees and legs.
Step 3: Face and pointed ears
Draw 2 round eyes with dots, a nose and a smile. Add 2 pointed ears on the head.
Step 4: Hair, fringe and bun
Draw hair over the head with a fringe. Add a round bun on top.
Step 5: Neck and dress
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a dress with sleeves and a wavy hem, ending right.
Step 6: Wings
Behind each shoulder draw a wing with 2 round lobes, a big one up and a smaller one below.
Step 7: Arms and hands
From each sleeve draw an arm down beside the dress, bending at the elbow out to a small hand.
Step 8: Legs and knees
Under the hem draw 2 legs hanging close together, each with a round knee, getting thinner at the ankle.
Step 9: Pointed slippers
On each ankle draw a little pointed slipper like a teardrop, toes pointing down and out.
Tip She is floating, not standing.
Step 10: Glow, shine and bottom
Draw 3 tiny 4-point stars round her and a short shine on the jar's left side. Curve the jar bottom.
Tip The curve at the bottom makes the jar look round.
Step 11: Pink dress, yellow hair
Colour the dress, the slippers and a little circle on each cheek pink, and the hair and bun yellow.
Step 12: Peach skin
Colour the face, ears, neck, arms, hands and legs peach, around the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Sky-blue wings, grey lid
Colour the wings sky blue, around the arms and hands, and the lid grey. Leave the glass white.
