How to Draw a Rowing Machine
Draw a rowing machine in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the fan drum.
Step 1: The fan drum
On the left draw a big round drum, as big as an orange, leaving room under it for a stand.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the drum draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, with a shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye, and a small flat cheek beside each eye.
Step 4: The drum stand
Under the drum draw a short fat post down to a long flat foot.
Step 5: Rail and back foot
From the drum's right side draw a long flat rail to the right, with a short post at the end.
Step 6: The sliding seat
On the rail, past the middle, draw the seat: a low rounded box on top, with a line across it.
Step 7: The footplate
Near the drum draw the footplate on the rail: a slanted box leaning back, with a strap line.
Step 8: Handle and cord
On the footplate draw a small handle. Start at the drum and draw a straight cord, stopping at the handle.
Step 9: Ground line
Start a little in from the left edge. Draw a ground line under the feet, stopping before the right edge.
Step 10: Pink cheeks
Go over your lines, then colour the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Grey rail and feet
Colour the rail, both posts and both feet light grey.
Step 12: Red seat and handle
Colour the seat, the handle and the footplate red.
Step 13: Dark grey drum
Colour the drum dark grey around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white. Your rowing machine is ready to row!
