How to Draw a Music Stand
Draw a music stand in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the desk.
Step 1: The desk
In the top half draw a box a bit wider than tall, with soft corners: the desk for the music.
Step 2: The lip
Along the bottom edge of the desk draw a long thin strip, a little wider than the desk.
Tip The lip pokes out past the desk and stops the music sliding off.
Step 3: The sheet of music
Inside the desk draw a smaller box standing on the lip for the music, with a small gap each side.
Step 4: Staff lines
On the sheet draw 5 straight lines across, evenly spaced, from near the left edge to near the right edge.
Step 5: Notes on the sheet
On the lines draw 3 little notes: a filled-in dot with a short stem going up from its right side.
Step 6: The pole
From the middle of the lip draw a thin pole straight down, stopping a little above the paper's bottom.
Step 7: The knob
Halfway down the pole draw a small round knob for the screw that holds the height.
Step 8: Legs and ground
From the pole's bottom draw 3 legs spreading left, down and right, then a ground line under their feet.
Tip Tripod legs spread wide so the stand does not tip over.
Step 9: Music notes
Draw a music note floating each side of the desk: a dot with a stem and a flag on top.
Step 10: White sheet, blue notes
Go over your lines, leave the sheet white and colour the floating notes blue.
Step 11: Black stand
Colour the desk, lip, pole, knob and legs black, around the sheet. Your music stand is ready for the concert!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a music stand, drawn by you.
