How to Draw a Balaclava
Draw a balaclava in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the hood.
Step 1: The hood
In the upper middle draw a tall hood with a rounded top and a dipping curve across the bottom.
Tip A balaclava is a knitted hood that covers your whole head except your face.
Step 2: The face opening
A little above the middle of the hood draw a wide oval for the opening where the face shows.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Inside the opening draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each, leaving a white shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile, and a small oval cheek beside each end, all inside the opening.
Step 5: Shoulders
Under the hood draw the shoulders, curving out from the hem down to the bottom of the page.
Step 6: Knit rows
Draw a row of little round bumps across the hood above the opening, and 2 rows below it.
Step 7: Ribbed hem
Near the bottom of the hood draw a curved line across, with short lines down from it to the hem.
Step 8: Ground
Draw a ground line under the shoulders from left to right.
Step 9: Snowflakes
Draw 2 little snowflakes in the air beside the hood, each made of 3 crossing lines.
Step 10: Twinkles
Draw a little four-point twinkle in the air at each side of the hood.
Step 11: Pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks pink.
Step 12: Peach face, red jacket
Colour the face inside the opening peach, going around the cheeks and leaving the eyes white, then the shoulders red.
Step 13: Navy hood
Go over your lines, then colour the hood navy blue around the face, and your balaclava is done!
