How to Draw a Roller Coaster
Draw a roller coaster in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big hill.
Step 1: The big hill
Start low on the left. Draw a slope up, a steep drop, then a flat line. Stop at the right.
Step 2: The track
Start at the left end. Draw the same line again just underneath. Stop at the right end.
Step 3: The loop
Draw a big circle standing on the flat track. Draw a smaller circle just inside it.
Step 4: Three cars
Just above the long slope draw 3 little cars in a row. Each is a box, taller at the back.
Step 5: Six wheels
Draw 2 small round wheels under each car, sitting on the track. Colour them in black.
Step 6: The ground
Draw a long straight ground line across, a little way under the track.
Step 7: Tall posts
Start under the hill. Draw 5 straight posts down. Stop each one on the ground.
Step 8: Short posts
Start under the low parts of the track. Draw 5 short posts down. Stop each one on the ground.
Step 9: Cross beams
Draw 2 straight beams across the inside of the hill. Start on one side and stop on the other.
Step 10: Yellow car
Colour the middle car yellow.
Step 11: Red track
Colour the track red: up and over the hill, along the flat part and all around the loop.
Step 12: Blue cars
Colour the first and last cars blue. Go over your lines. Hold on tight!
