How to Draw a Burj Al Arab
Draw a burj al arab in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big sail.
Step 1: The big sail
Draw a tall straight line. From its top sweep a big curve out left and down. Close the bottom.
Tip It looks like the sail of a boat, widest near the bottom.
Step 2: The mast
Up the straight side draw a thin mast from the ground, ending in a sharp needle above the sail.
Step 3: The curved frame
Start at the top of the sail. Draw a second curve just inside the big one, down to the bottom.
Tip Keep the gap the same all the way down.
Step 4: Floor lines
Draw 5 gently curved lines across the sail, from the inside curve to the straight side.
Step 5: Landing pad
Start on the curved side near the top. Draw a flat round-ended pad and stop on the curve. Add 1 prop.
Step 6: The island
Start at the sail's bottom corner. Draw a low flat island under the tower. Stop at the mast's bottom corner.
Step 7: The sea
Draw the water line from the island's bottom corners to the paper's edges, and a long wave lower down.
Step 8: The sun
In the top left draw a round sun with 8 short rays.
Step 9: Yellow sun, sand island
Colour the sun yellow and the island sand yellow.
Step 10: Sky blue glass
Colour the inside of the sail sky blue. Leave the curved frame white.
Step 11: Grey mast and pad
Colour the mast, its needle and the landing pad grey.
Step 12: Blue sea
Colour the sea blue from the water line to the bottom of the paper. Your Burj Al Arab is done!
