13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a robot dog in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: box head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Box head

Near the top of your paper draw a big box for the head, wider than tall, with soft round corners.

Tip Leave room below for the body and legs.

  2. Step 2: 2 big eyes

Just above the middle of the box draw 2 big round eyes, with a black dot and a white shine.

  3. Step 3: Box snout

Under the eyes draw a small round box for the snout. Draw a little rectangle nose near its top.

  4. Step 4: Smile

From the bottom of the nose draw a short line down, then a little w smile out to each side.

  5. Step 5: Ear flaps

Start at the top left corner of the head. Draw a flat flap out and down to the bottom corner.

Tip Do the right ear the same.

  6. Step 6: Antenna

Start on top of the head in the middle. Draw a short line straight up to a round ball.

  7. Step 7: Box body and collar

Start under the head. Draw a box body down, across and back up to the head. Add 2 collar curves.

Tip Round the corners of the box. The collar curves sag a little.

  8. Step 8: Screen and bolts

Under the collar draw a small rectangle screen with a line inside. Add a little round bolt on each side.

  9. Step 9: Tube legs and paws

For each front leg start under the collar. Draw 2 lines straight down to a flat block paw.

Tip Add a knee line across and 2 toe lines on each paw.

  10. Step 10: Back paws

Draw a block paw at each bottom corner. Curve a round hip from the body side down to each paw.

Tip Rub out the body line inside each hip.

  11. Step 11: Tail and ground

From the right hip, draw a curved tail up to a ball. Add a ground line under the paws.

Tip Make the tail fat at the hip and thin at the ball.

  12. Step 12: Grey metal

Colour the head, snout, ears, body, legs and tail grey, around the collar and screen. Leave the eyes white.

  13. Step 13: Red collar, blue screen

Colour the collar and both balls red, and the screen sky blue.
