How to Draw a Recycling Bin

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a recycling bin in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bin.

Print

  1. Step 1: The bin

In the middle draw a tall bin, wider at the top, on a straight floor line from left to right.

Tip No lid: a recycling bin is open so you can toss things in.

  2. Step 2: The rim

Along the top draw a flat band a little wider than the bin for the thick rim.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

On the lower half of the bin draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.

  4. Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye, and a small oval cheek beside each end.

  5. Step 5: The recycling arrows

On the upper half draw the recycling sign: 3 fat arrows chasing round a triangle, a gap at each corner.

Tip Draw the triangle lightly first, then an arrow on each side.

  6. Step 6: Things to recycle

From the rim draw a bottle up to its cap: round shoulders, thin neck. Add paper on the right.

  7. Step 7: Four sparkles

Add 4 little sparkles in the air, 2 on each side of the bin.

  8. Step 8: Pink cheeks, cream paper

Colour the cheeks pink and the paper cream. Reduce, reuse, recycle!

  9. Step 9: Green bottle

Colour the bottle green, from the rim right up to the cap.

  10. Step 10: Blue bin

Colour the bin blue around the cheeks, leaving the arrows and eyes white, and the rim dark blue.
