How to Draw a T-Rex Skull
Draw a T-rex skull in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the skull.
Step 1: The skull
In the top half draw a big skull: blunt nose on the left, flat top, round back, flat jaw line.
Tip A skull is a bony head: a T. rex head with the skin off.
Step 2: Eye hole
Near the back of the skull, above the middle, draw a big egg-shaped eye hole, narrower at the bottom.
Step 3: Two more holes
Near the nose draw a small nostril. Between it and the eye hole draw a big rounded triangle hole.
Step 4: Top teeth
Start on the top jaw near the nose. Zigzag teeth down, smaller at the back, stopping under the eye hole.
Step 5: Bottom jaw
From the back corner draw the bottom jaw down to a blunt chin, and back. Add a round hinge knob.
Tip The jaw hangs open from its hinge, under the eye hole.
Step 6: Bottom teeth
Start on the front of the bottom jaw. Zigzag 3 teeth up, stopping on the edge. Leave a gap above.
Tip They must not touch the top teeth.
Step 7: Cracks
Zigzag a small crack down from the top of the skull, and another up from the bottom of the jaw.
Step 8: Ground and pebbles
Draw a ground line under the jaw, stopping short of the edges. Add 3 small pebbles.
Step 9: Sand bone, white teeth
Go over your lines. Colour the skull and the jaw sand, leaving the holes and the teeth white.
Step 10: Grey pebbles, black holes
Colour the pebbles light grey. Then colour the eye hole, the nostril and the triangle hole black.
