How to Draw a Reading Nook
Draw a reading nook in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bean bag.
Step 1: The bean bag
Draw a bean bag, tall on the left. Draw a U dip from the right slope round to the edge.
Tip Then add one seam from the top of the back down to the floor.
Step 2: 2 big eyes
Below the seat dip draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile. Draw a small flat oval cheek out beside each eye.
Step 4: A stack of books
On the right draw 3 flat books stacked on the ground, each a long thin box, not quite lined up.
Step 5: The floor lamp
On the right draw a flat base. From it draw a tall pole curving up and over to a lampshade.
Step 6: The shelf
Up on the left draw a long thin shelf with 2 small brackets under the ends.
Step 7: Books on the shelf
On the shelf draw 3 books standing up side by side, and one lying flat on the right.
Step 8: Ground line
Start a little in from the left edge. Draw a ground line across and stop near the right edge.
Step 9: Sparkles
Under the lampshade draw 2 little sparkles, one below each corner.
Step 10: Yellow and pink
Go over your lines, then colour the lampshade and sparkles yellow and the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Red and blue books
Colour the books red and blue, taking turns so no 2 next to each other match.
Step 12: Brown shelf and base
Colour the shelf, its brackets and the lamp base wood brown.
Step 13: Purple bean bag
Colour the bean bag purple around the cheeks, leaving the eyes white. Your reading nook is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a reading nook, drawn by you.
