How to Draw a Padlock
Draw a padlock in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the body.
Step 1: The body
Below the middle of your paper draw a big box with soft round corners, a little wider than tall.
Step 2: The shackle
From near the top left corner draw an upside-down U, ending near the right corner. Add a smaller U inside.
Tip Both U shapes stand on the top edge of the body, so the loop looks thick.
Step 3: A happy face
Near the top of the body draw 2 big round eyes with black dots. Under them draw a U smile.
Step 4: The keyhole
Low on the body, well under the smile, draw a keyhole, a small circle with a wedge hanging under it.
Step 5: Rosy cheeks
Draw a small oval cheek out beside each end of the smile.
Step 6: A shine
Start high on the left side of the body. Draw one light curve down, stopping level with the cheeks.
Step 7: The ground
Draw a long flat ground line under the body, from near the left edge to near the right edge.
Step 8: A key
On the ground right of the padlock draw a key lying down, with a ring, a bar and 2 teeth.
Step 9: Peach cheeks, gold body
Colour the cheeks peach, then the body yellow like gold around them. Leave the eyes white. Colour the keyhole black.
Step 10: Grey key
Go over all your lines, then colour the key grey.
Step 11: Slate shackle
Colour the shackle loop slate grey, and your padlock is done!

Your finished drawing
