How to Draw a Ranch
Draw a ranch in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two tall posts.
Step 1: Two tall posts
A little in from each side of your paper, draw a tall post: a tall thin box.
Step 2: The top beam
Across the tops of the posts draw a long flat beam that sticks out a little past each post.
Step 3: The sign
Under the middle of the beam draw a wide box sign hanging from it.
Step 4: The ranch name
Write RANCH in capital letters across the sign, leaving a little space all round.
Step 5: A lucky horseshoe
On the beam draw a horseshoe, tips up: a U with a smaller U inside. Add 4 nail dots.
Step 6: The barn
Between the posts draw a little barn: a wide box with a rounded roof, a round window and a door.
Step 7: Fences
Outside each big post draw a short fence post. Join it to the big post with 2 flat rails.
Step 8: The ground
Draw the ground line from well left of the fences to well right, under the posts and barn.
Step 9: The sun
Draw a round sun with 8 short rays in the top left.
Step 10: A cloud
Draw a puffy cloud in the top right: a row of bumps on top and 2 flatter bumps underneath.
Step 11: Yellow sign and sun
Go over your lines. Colour the sign yellow around the letters, and the sun yellow.
Step 12: Grey shoe, red barn
Colour the horseshoe grey, then the whole barn red, door and window too.
Step 13: Wooden gate
Colour the posts, the beam and the fence rails wood brown, around the horseshoe. Your ranch is done!
