How to Draw a Hotel
Draw a hotel in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tall block.
Step 1: The tall block
In the middle of your paper draw a tall block, much taller than it is wide.
Tip A hotel is tall, with lots of windows for lots of rooms.
Step 2: Ledge and sign
On top of the block draw a flat ledge poking out each side. On it draw a sign box.
Step 3: The hotel name
Write HOTEL in big capital letters across the sign.
Step 4: The front doors
At the bottom, in the middle, draw a wide door. Draw a line down the middle to make 2 doors.
Step 5: A canopy
Start on the wall above the doors. Draw a canopy out and back in to the wall. Add 2 posts.
Step 6: Three rows of windows
Draw 3 rows of 3 square windows across the top of the block, like a grid.
Step 7: Two more windows
Draw 1 more window on each side above the canopy.
Step 8: A flag
Start near the ledge's left end. Draw a pole straight up, taller than the sign. Add a flag.
Step 9: Ground, tree and suitcase
Draw the ground. From it draw a trunk up to a bumpy tree top. Add a suitcase on the right.
Step 10: A cloud
High on the right draw a small puffy cloud: 3 bumps over the top and a flat bottom.
Step 11: Tan walls, sky windows
Colour the block and the ledge tan, going round the windows, canopy and doors. Colour every window sky blue.
Step 12: Red sign, green tree
Colour the canopy, sign and flag red. Colour the bumpy tree top green.
Step 13: Brown case, navy doors
Colour the trunk and suitcase brown and the doors navy blue. Go over your lines and your hotel is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a hotel, drawn by you.
