How to Draw a Theater
Draw a theater in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the stage.
Step 1: The stage
Low on your paper draw a long flat box for the front of the stage, about a thumb tall.
Tip A stage is wide: nearly the whole width of the paper.
Step 2: The big arch
Start on the stage near the left end. Draw a big rainbow over and stop near the right end.
Step 3: Top curtain
Below the arch top draw a line from the left side across to the right. Hang 8 bumps under it.
Step 4: Left curtain
Start under the top curtain, left of the middle. Draw a line pinched at the waist, down to the stage.
Step 5: Right curtain
Start under the top curtain, right of the middle. Draw the same wavy line down to the stage.
Step 6: Tie-backs and folds
At each curtain's waist draw a small sideways oval tie-back. Add 2 fold lines down each curtain from the bumps.
Step 7: Footlights
Along the top of the stage draw 5 half-circle lights, one in each gap between the curtain lines.
Step 8: A star on stage
In the middle of the stage, between the curtains, draw a big 5-point star.
Step 9: Music notes
Above the star draw 2 music notes: a fat oval, a line from its right side up to a flag.
Step 10: The floor
Draw the floor line under the stage from edge to edge. Add a short leg down near each stage end.
Step 11: Yellow star and lights
Colour the star, the note heads, the footlights and the tie-backs yellow.
Step 12: Red curtains
Colour the 2 curtains red, going around the tie-backs and lights. Colour the top curtain red too.
Step 13: Navy backdrop, wooden stage
Colour the backdrop navy, around the star, notes, tie-backs and middle light. Colour the stage brown. Your theater is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a theater, drawn by you.
