How to Draw a Rainbow Lollipop

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a rainbow lollipop in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: round candy.

Print

  1. Step 1: Round candy

Above the middle of your paper draw a big circle, as wide as half the page.

Tip Leave room under it for the stick.

  2. Step 2: The stick

From the bottom of the circle draw 2 close lines straight down. Join them with a round end.

  3. Step 3: Three swirl lines

Start at the middle each time. Draw 3 curved lines swirling out, like a pinwheel. Stop on the edge.

Tip Keep them evenly apart, like 3 fan blades.

  4. Step 4: Three more lines

From the middle again, draw 1 more swirling line in each gap. Stop on the edge.

Tip Count them: 6 lines make 6 stripes.

  5. Step 5: A bow

Under the candy draw a small oval knot on the stick. Add a plump loop on each side.

Tip Make both loops the same size.

  6. Step 6: Bow tails

From under the knot draw 2 short ribbon tails hanging down. Add a small fold line in each loop.

  7. Step 7: The ground

Draw a short ground line under the stick, a little left to a little right.

  8. Step 8: Yellow stripe

Go over your lines. Colour the stripe that touches the edge at the lower right yellow.

Tip Rainbow order is red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple.

  9. Step 9: Orange stripe

Colour the stripe that touches the edge just above the yellow one orange.

Tip Each stripe gets thin near the middle.

  10. Step 10: Red stripe

Colour the stripe that touches the top of the edge red. Colour the bow red too.

  11. Step 11: Green stripe

Colour the stripe that touches the bottom of the edge green.

Tip Green comes after yellow in a rainbow.

  12. Step 12: Blue stripe

Colour the stripe that touches the edge at the lower left blue.

  13. Step 13: Purple stripe

Colour the last stripe purple. Leave the stick white. Your rainbow lollipop is done!
